  • A range becomes a fixed price after a short scoping call. What moves a price: users and departments, data to migrate, integrations, and how much is configured versus built.
  • Optional annual support and managed governance starts at 18% of the project value per year (minimum $1,800). Changes after go-live are $85 per hour, or a prepaid 20-hour block for $1,600.
  • Prices exclude VAT (16% in Kenya) and withholding tax.

Who this is for

  • Organizations that have outgrown entry-level accounting software, where the finance team maintains parallel spreadsheets to answer questions the system cannot.
  • Businesses with inventory, multiple locations or manufacturing, where stock, purchasing and financials need to be one system rather than three.
  • Groups needing consolidated reporting across entities, currently consolidating by hand each month.
  • Organizations with a statutory audit, where traceability from transaction to report is a requirement rather than a preference.

What a Business Central deployment covers

An ERP implementation is a business change project with software in it. The configuration is substantial, but the decisions your finance team makes during it matter more.

  • Chart of accounts, dimensions and posting setup designed for the reporting you need out, not merely migrated from what you have.
  • Finance modules: general ledger, receivables, payables, fixed assets, bank reconciliation and cash management.
  • Inventory, purchasing and sales where those are in scope, including costing method, which is a decision with long consequences.
  • Multi-currency and multi-entity configuration, with consolidation where a group structure requires it.
  • Data migration: masters, opening balances and the history you decide to bring.
  • Reporting, including statutory formats and the management pack finance produces monthly.

How the engagement runs

  1. 1

    Discovery and design

Current processes, chart of accounts, dimensions and reporting requirements. Designing the dimension model against the reports you need is the decision with the longest reach in the project.

  2. 2

    Configuration and build

Modules are configured, and any genuine gap is addressed with an extension rather than by modifying the base product.

  3. 3

    Data migration and validation

Masters and opening balances load and are reconciled to the closing position of the old system. It either ties or it does not.

  4. 4

    User acceptance testing

Your finance team runs real transactions and real month-end. This phase is routinely under-resourced and it is where problems are cheap to fix.

  5. 5

    Go-live and hypercare

Cutover at a period boundary, with close support through the first full close, which is the real test.

What you need in place

  • Finance team availability. This is the one that sinks ERP projects, the people who must define and test the configuration are also running the current month.
  • A clean closing position in the existing system. Migrating an unreconciled balance carries the problem forward and makes it yours to explain.
  • Decisions on costing method, dimension structure and chart of accounts. We advise, but they are yours to own.
  • An executive sponsor with authority to settle process disputes between departments.

Working with Sibasi on Business Central

How long does a Business Central implementation take?

It depends far more on scope and your team’s availability than on the software. Finance-only for a single entity with clean data is a materially different project from a multi-entity group with inventory, manufacturing and several integrations. Rather than quote a number here that becomes an expectation, we scope it in discovery, and the honest constraint is usually how much time your finance team can give while still closing each month.

Should we customize it?

As little as possible, and never by modifying the base product. Business Central updates continuously, and heavy customization turns every update into a regression-testing exercise. Where there is a genuine gap we build an extension, which survives updates. Most requests for customization on inspection are requests to reproduce a process that existed because the old system forced it, and those are worth challenging before building.

What about our historical data?

Open items and balances must come across and must reconcile. Full transaction history usually should not: it inflates the migration, complicates validation and is generally better retained in an archive of the old system that you can query if audit asks. We agree the retention approach in discovery so there is no argument about it at cutover.

Can it handle multiple entities and currencies?

Yes, and that is frequently the reason for moving. Multi-entity, multi-currency and consolidation are core capability. The design work is in the dimension model and the intercompany setup, because consolidation quality depends entirely on whether transactions are dimensioned consistently across entities from the start.

What happens after go-live?

The first month-end close is the real test, so we stay close through it, hypercare rather than handover-and-leave. After that, support moves to a standard arrangement, and we train your team to handle routine configuration themselves so that small changes do not require a ticket.
