Highlights

Bills of materials and routings Production orders Planning and MRP Costing and OEE

Sound familiar?

  • Production plans live in spreadsheets and whiteboards
  • Raw materials run out mid-run, or pile up unused
  • Nobody knows the true cost of a product until long after it ships
  • Downtime and waste are felt on the floor but never measured

See the whole production picture, from raw material to finished goods

A factory runs on a few basic questions: what are we making, what do we need to make it, and what did it really cost. Business Central answers them in one connected system with your finance, stock and sales. We configure your products, recipes and routings, train your planners and floor teams, and set up the reports that show where time and money leak.

Define and plan

Bills of materials and routings

Describe each product by its ingredients or components and the steps to make it. Versions and change control keep everyone on the current recipe.

Planning and material requirements

Turn sales orders and forecasts into a plan for what to make and what to buy, and when. Shortages show up before they stop the line.

Capacity and scheduling

See machine and work centre load, so you can promise delivery dates that you can actually keep.

Run the floor

Production orders

Release, run and finish orders with the materials, steps and times attached. Everyone works from one live order, not a printout.

Consumption and output posting

Record what was used and what was made as the work happens, so stock and cost stay right without end-of-month catch-up.

Lot and serial traceability

Trace any batch back to its materials and forward to its customers. Essential for food, pharma and any recall scenario.

Subcontracting

Send work out to partners and track materials, cost and return of goods like any other production step.

Cost and improve

Product costing and margin

See material, labour and overhead cost per product and per run, and compare standard with actual cost to find where margin is lost.

OEE, downtime and quality dashboards

Power BI views of equipment availability, performance and quality, so improvement work starts from facts.

  • A range becomes a fixed price after a short scoping call. What moves a price: users and departments, data to migrate, integrations, and how much is configured versus built.
  • Optional annual support and managed governance starts at 18% of the project value per year (minimum $1,800). Changes after go-live are $85 per hour, or a prepaid 20-hour block for $1,600.
  • Prices exclude VAT (16% in Kenya) and withholding tax.

Questions we hear most

Does Business Central really handle manufacturing?

Yes. Production orders, bills of materials, routings, capacity and planning are part of Business Central’s manufacturing capabilities. These need the Premium licence, and we will confirm the right licences for you.

Can it handle process manufacturing, such as food or chemicals?

It handles recipes and batches well, including lot tracking and expiry. We look at your process in detail before we recommend how to set it up.

How does it connect to machines on the floor?

Basic production reporting works with floor users entering data on tablets or terminals. Direct machine integration is possible and scoped separately, depending on your equipment.

Will it replace our finance system as well?

It can. Many manufacturers run finance, stock, sales and production in the same Business Central, so costs flow straight into the books.

We are small. Is this too much?

We start with what you need most, often bills of materials, orders and stock, and add planning and costing as you are ready. You do not have to switch everything on at once.
